Swimming 201 – Private Lessons
Swimming 201 lessons are ideal for swimmers who have mastered foundational water comfort and are ready to level up their technique. In these one-on-one sessions, we introduce body positioning and streamline techniques that are essential for efficient, confident swimming. With focused instruction tailored to your swimmer’s pace, they’ll begin to move through the water with more control and purpose.
Skills introduced and practiced include:
Front Ready Position: Learning how to prepare the body for forward movement in the water with proper posture and head alignment.
Back Ready Position: Developing a stable and relaxed position on the back, preparing swimmers for confident floating and backstroke technique.
Streamline Position: Swimmers are introduced to the streamline body shape, helping them move through the water with less resistance.
Kicking Across the Shallow End in Streamline (on Belly): Practicing strong, straight-leg flutter kicks while maintaining a tight streamline across the pool.
Kicking Across the Shallow End in Streamline (on Back): Learning to stay balanced and aligned while flutter kicking on the back in streamline position.
Kicking Across in #11 Position (on Belly & Back): Swimmers practice kicking with arms extended straight at shoulder width (#11), reinforcing length and stability in the water.
This level is all about building the muscle memory and body awareness needed for strong stroke development. By mastering these positions and kicks, your swimmer will be well-prepared for freestyle and backstroke technique in future lessons.
